By the editors · 2 min readBlack pepper and saffron crackle on first spray, a dry, hot spark that lifts the zest of orange, lemon, grapefruit and bergamot into a bright, resinous flare. The heart folds in cool sage and powdery iris, their muted green and grey veils quieting the citrus blaze while jasmine and lily keep the profile softly floral rather than sweet. As the spices ebb, tonka and sandalwood spread a creamy, blond wood layer that is deepened by earthy vetiver and a whisper of salty ambergris, the plum adding a dusk-purple tint that keeps the base from turning sugary. Projection stays at arm’s length for six hours, then settles to a skin-warmed woody musk. Cool autumn nights and smart-casual dinners are its natural habitat.
