By the editors · 2 min readLavender and bergamot open with a brief aromatic-citrus brightness, but styrax appears in the same breath, sticky and balsamic, immediately darkening the picture. The opening feels less like a top accord than an overture into something denser.
Cardamom warms the heart with green spice while may rose and a second pass of styrax pull things toward an old-leather warmth. The transition into the base is barely perceptible because the resins were already present.
Frankincense, labdanum, benzoin and amber pile into the base with tonka and sandalwood smoothing the seams. Overall the character is a smoky resinous oriental, plush and slightly church-like, with strong projection in the first hours and a long warm balsamic close.
