Clove rises immediately, warm and slightly numbing, with the dry rooty character of vetiver implied by the title even though the pyramid only lists clove explicitly.

By the editors · 2 min readClove rises immediately, warm and slightly numbing, with the dry rooty character of vetiver implied by the title even though the pyramid only lists clove explicitly. The two notes appear to interlock from the start.
The development is minimal. There is essentially one motif: a damp earthy vetiver shaded with carnation-like clove warmth. The whole piece smells like a cellar floor where a spice tin has been opened.
Overall the character is austere, vegetal, and savoury, with no sweetness or floral lift. Projection sits close after the first hour and the impression remains coherent throughout: a single chord rather than a story. It feels intentionally minimalist rather than thin.
