By the editors · 2 min readOajan opens with a rush of cinnamon-dusted honey that borders on gourmand territory but never quite settles there. The osmanthus adds a leathery apricot undertone that keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying, while the spice has real heat—almost medicinal in its intensity during the first few minutes.
As it develops, amber and benzoin create a resinous warmth that anchors the composition. The honey recedes into a supporting role, and what emerges is a thick, balmy sweetness cut through with tobacco-like facets from the labdanum. Tonka and vanilla appear gradually, rounding out the edges without pushing it into full dessert mode.
The overall effect is a rich, enveloping fragrance that wears close to the skin despite its density. It suits cooler weather and evening wear, fitting someone drawn to oriental sweetness but preferring it wrapped in smoke and resin rather than pure sugar. The name references a Persian drink of cinnamon and saffron—a fitting reference for this spiced, ambered warmth.
