By the editors · 2 min readLothair opens with a rush of green fig leaf and bergamot that feels both fresh and slightly medicinal, sharpened by cardamom's resinous bite. There's an aromatic clarity here that suggests British barbershop tradition reimagined—lavender and magnolia arrive quickly, the floral not quite sweet, held in check by the herbal edges of the opening.

As it settles, the composition grows warmer and softer. Oakmoss lends a mossy, old-fashioned elegance, while vanilla and ambergris create a skin-close glow rather than overt sweetness. The cedar adds structure, keeping everything from turning too plush. What emerges is something between classic fougère and modern woody aromatic—familiar categories rendered with enough restraint to feel wearable rather than nostalgic.

Lothair suits someone who appreciates traditional masculine perfumery but prefers it streamlined, without excess flourish. It's polite, well-constructed, quietly substantial.
