By the editors · 2 min readStar anise opens with a cool aniseed snap that reads almost camphorous before settling. The pyramid hands off quickly to a base built around clean white musk, creamy sandalwood, and patchouli sanded down with amber. The patchouli here is the bright, head-shop reading rather than the damp earthy version, which gives the composition a faintly powdered glow.
Development is mostly linear after the anise burns off. What remains is a soft woody-amber haze hanging close to fabric, with patchouli giving structure and the musk smoothing seams. Gentle, uncomplicated, easy to wear in mild weather without crowding a room.
