By the editors · 2 min readThe opening lifts on lily and bergamot for a clean, faintly aldehydic floral introduction that reads tailored from the first minute. There is an old-school polish to it.
The heart goes powdery as orris takes over, dry and faintly carroty, with rose adding a darker centre. The composition reads architectural rather than romantic, structure first and prettiness second, the iris doing most of the middle work.
Amber, patchouli and castoreum build a smoky leather close with a soft animalic shadow. Overall the character is a powdery iris-and-leather chypre, dressed and slightly austere, suited to formal cool-weather wear where its restraint reads as elegance and its leather depth feels intentional rather than rough.
