By the editors · 2 min readRosemary on top, alone — an unusual choice that gives the opening a clean, herbal sharpness with no citrus to soften it. The heart turns plush quickly: jasmine, heliotrope, peach and orange blossom build a creamy floral, with labdanum already pushing resin into what should still be the lighter section.
The base is a heavy ambered leather. Tonka, sandalwood, oakmoss, leather and birch tar layer against civet, ambergris, more labdanum, benzoin and vanilla, with saffron and patchouli threading warmth across the top. The composition runs hot and animalic in the dry-down — old-school in a way that feels deliberate rather than dated.
