By the editors · 2 min readMusk Aoud draws the oud tradition toward something softer and more carnal. The lemon-bergamot opening is perfunctory — a signal of what house this comes from — before ylang-ylang and May rose give a brief floral hinge, and then the base opens wide. Birch brings smokiness, oud supplies the resinous dark core, leather adds structure, and a dense musk complex built around ambrette makes the whole construction feel skin-close despite its considerable sillage. Tonka bean and vanilla prevent this from becoming austere. The overall effect is of walking into a room where someone very expensive has recently been: warm skin, wood, quiet smoke.
