By the editors · 2 min readOpens with a cool, slightly tart blackcurrant, the cassis sharp and almost catty in that classic way the material has when it's not buried under sweetness. The single-note top is unusually exposed.
The heart turns to jasmine and narcissus — the narcissus particularly important here, lending a green-yellow floral with a hay-like, slightly leathery undertone that pushes the bouquet away from anything pretty or conventional. Jasmine sweetens the shadow without softening it.
Patchouli closes it down: dark, earthy, and almost wine-like under the lingering florals. The whole arc reads narcotic-poisonous in keeping with the name, a moody yellow-floral chypre with cassis topspin and dirt underneath. Wear when the mood wants something faintly menacing.
