Star anise and anise together in the heart double down on a licorice quality, threading through jasmine, iris, and rose to produce a floral arrangement with a distinctly herbal edge. Heliotrope and lily of the valley round out the heart's fullness.
White musk in the base strips everything back to a single clean anchor, letting the spiced florals diffuse rather than building further complexity. An unusual late-nineties composition — anise-led florals that read both bold and transparent simultaneously. A Shiseido experiment that's more interesting on skin than it sounds on paper.
