By the editors · 2 min readThe opening carries the bright green-petal clarity of Bulgarian rose, lifted by cardamom's crisp warmth and a flash of bergamom citrus. Within minutes, the rose begins to darken and fold inward as incense smoke rises through the composition, not churchy or ceremonial but dry and resinous, like sun-warmed amber beads left on aged wood.
As it settles, castoreum lends a leathery, almost animalic undertone that grounds the rose in something earthier than simple florals. The base is dense with vetiver, myrrh, and labdanum, creating a smoky, amber-toned foundation that feels ancient rather than polished. Patchouli adds shadow without turning the blend overtly hippie.
This is rose seen through a veil of incense ash and leather, suited to those who want their florals complicated, weighted, and tinged with something quietly austere. It wears close and long, more introspective than loud.
