By the editors · 2 min readBlack pepper and cumin crackle on skin, their dry heat pulling bergamot’s zest into a peppery haze that feels almost toasted. Labdanum arrives early, thickening the spices with a resinous leather edge while pink pepper keeps the top bright and airborne. The heart swaps smoke for roots: guaiac wood’s pencil-shaving grain meets vetiver’s earthy grass, and iris adds a cool, carrot-like powder that muffles lily-of-the-valley’s green bell. Ambergris and caramel slowly bloom from below, turning the ember-spiced woods into a salty, slightly burnt toffee that clings to moss and sandalwood’s creamy grain. Projection stays within arm’s length for eight hours, the dry-down a skin-close whisper of musk, moss and singed sugar that feels best under a wool coat in cold air.
