By the editors · 2 min readBegum opens classical — lemon and bergamot over freesia, the citrus crisp and well-tailored, the freesia giving a soft floral lift behind it. The opening reads as old-school chypre territory before quickly turning floral.
The heart is a stacked rose-and-white-floral composition: Bulgarian and damask rose with ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, and iris all in close range. It's lush without being soapy, with the iris pulling things slightly powdery.
The base is built for staying power — sandalwood, rosewood, vetiver, amber, vanilla, patchouli, musk — a textbook polished oriental floor that softens the florals into something resinous and warm. Wear it when the evening is long and the dress code is real.
