By the editors · 2 min readThe original Black Opium's coffee-vanilla framework returns here in a thicker, more concentrated form. The pear opening is brief and syrupy, quickly giving way to a burst of cinnamon that feels almost mulled-wine warm against the darker base notes. Where the eau de parfum keeps things airy and sparkling, Le Parfum pushes into denser territory from the start.
Orange blossom appears midway through, but it's muted—less a white floral centerpiece than a soft backdrop to the dominant coffee and vanilla. The patchouli here is earthier and more present than in previous versions, grounding what might otherwise tip into pure gourmand sweetness. The coffee note stays persistent, never quite roasted or bitter, more like sweetened cold brew.
This is Black Opium for someone who found the original too fleeting or too bright. It sits closer to the skin but radiates more warmth, trading sparkle for depth. Best in cooler weather, evenings, or anywhere you want that signature coffee-vanilla signature to linger without the fruity effervescence.
