By the editors · 2 min readRum soaked in ginger opens Le Vestiaire – Cuir, the spirit dark, sweet and immediately animalic. Within minutes the ginger flash recedes and pipe tobacco folds in, its honeyed smoke turning the accord leathery while still carrying a boozy glow. That leather accord grows dense once oud joins, the two woods tanning the tobacco into a dry, tar-cured hide that stays close to skin yet persists for hours. Projection is polite, a forearm-length aura perfect for cool evenings or layered under wool. The composition is linear after the first half-hour, so what you smell at minute twenty is essentially the ride; longevity lands around eight hours on fabric, six on skin, with trace rum resurfacing whenever warmth returns.
