12 Parfumeurs Français
Twelve perfumers, twelve arrondissements, one Paris.
12 Parfumeurs Français is a Parisian niche house established in 2013 on an innovative structural premise: twelve perfumers each represent a different arrondissement of Paris, and each is given creative autonomy to interpret their district through a fragrance. The result is a collection where geographic and social contrasts within the city become olfactory contrasts within the catalog, from the bourgeois calm of the 16th to the historic density of the Marais. The format is explicitly collaborative and geography-bound, making it distinct from the single-nose model of most niche houses. The project reflects a strand of conceptual French perfumery that treats Paris as both subject and medium. Distribution runs through specialty niche retailers in France and internationally. The house is priced at the niche tier and appeals particularly to enthusiasts interested in the intersection of place and scent as well as to collectors building a thematically organized fragrance wardrobe.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
