Abdes Salaam Attars Perfumes
All-natural Italian artisan perfumery since 1988.
Abdes Salaam Attars Perfumes — also known as La Via del Profumo — is an Italian artisanal perfume house founded in 1988 by Dominique Dubrana, a French-born perfumer who took the name AbdesSalaam Attar after converting to Sufism during travels through Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. He has worked from Italy ever since, building one of the longest-running all-natural perfume houses in Europe. Every composition is made from natural raw materials, with no synthetics, and many are constructed in the Eastern attar tradition — concentrated, slow-evolving, often built around oud, rose, sandalwood, or labdanum. Several titles, including Sensemilla, Tabac, Milano Caffe, and Hindu Kush, were awarded four stars by Luca Turin in Perfumes: The Guide. The house remains personal in scale, sold mostly direct through naturalnicheperfume.com and a small set of specialist retailers.
