Abdul Karim Al Faransi
Arabian perfumery composed with French elegance.
Abdul Karim Al Faransi — known to its collectors as AKAF — is the perfume oil house of Anthony Marmin, a self-taught French perfumer who took the name Abdul Karim after embracing Islam in 2001. Founded in 2013, the maison specialises in Arabian-style attars rendered with French perfumery's emphasis on structure and refinement. The collection works in oud, real ambergris, deer musk, sandalwood, and floral absolutes, blended in small batches and sold in oil concentration rather than as alcohol-based eaux de parfum. Compositions like Sheikh Al Faransi and Istanbul have built a devoted following within the attar community on both sides of the Mediterranean. The house also operates under the parallel name Maison Anthony Marmin and remains an artisan operation, distributed through specialist attar retailers in Europe and the Gulf rather than mainstream perfumery.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
