Absolument Parfumeur
Distilled Provençal botanicals, absinthe at the heart.
Absolument Parfumeur is a Provençal niche perfume house founded in 1999 by Pascal Rolland, an entrepreneur best known for orchestrating the return of absinthe liquor to France after a century-old ban. In 2005, Rolland produced what he claims as the first absinthe-based perfume, Absolument Absinthe, formally launching the fragrance house and its flagship creation simultaneously. The atelier is based at the foot of Mont Sainte-Victoire in the south of France, where each raw material is carefully selected, dried, and infused in superfine alcohol before distillation — a process Rolland inherited from ancient Provençal mestres perfumers and which he credits with producing accords of unusual olfactory richness. The house name derives from the word absolue, denoting the quintessential essence of a perfumed raw material, signalling a commitment to purity and depth over commercial compromise. Subsequent releases including Absolument Homme and Absolument Femme extended the palette while preserving the distilled botanical character that distinguishes the brand.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
