Acqua Di Stresa
Lake Maggiore botanical perfumery with a Belle Epoque memory.
Acqua di Stresa was founded in 2002 by Giovanni Castelli and Andrea Patrucco, two fashion-world veterans who moved their creative ambitions from cloth to scent in the lakeside town of Stresa, on the western shore of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. Their first fragrances drew directly from the botanical world of the lake — camellias, azaleas, lemons, laurels, and rhododendrons — distilling the particular lushness of the Borromean landscape into wearable form. Over time the house expanded beyond its local palette, introducing more internationally conceived compositions that retain an unmistakable Italian elegance. A Heritage Collection honours historical figures connected to the lake, including Queen Victoria, who visited in 1879. The brand is made entirely in Italy, positions itself firmly in the niche tier, and stocks the windows of quality retailers in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The camellia oil threading through many of its products has become a quiet signature of the house.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
