Adopt' / Réserve Naturelle
Quality French perfumery made accessible to everyone.
Adopt' is a French fragrance chain founded in 1986 in Cestas, near Bordeaux, under the original name Réserve Naturelle, with the stated purpose of making quality French perfumery affordable to everyone. After decades of quiet regional success, the brand rebranded as Adopt in 2014 and accelerated dramatically following its acquisition by the investment fund Next Stage in 2016 and the arrival of former Lancôme executive Frédéric Stoeckel as director in 2019. The model is built on democratic access: a catalogue of over one hundred original eaux de parfum — floral, fruity, woody, chypre, feminine, masculine, and mixed — offered at prices that encourage spontaneous, mood-driven purchase rather than a single committed signature. All fragrances are created and produced in France, with reduced, largely recyclable packaging and ingredients selected for both quality and sustainability. By 2024 the brand was selling twenty-three million bottles annually, making it the top-selling French perfume brand by volume.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
