Al Hunaidi
Dubai's old-city perfumery since 1954.
Al Hunaidi is one of Dubai's oldest continuously operating perfume establishments, founded in 1954 by Shaikh Mohd Saeed in the historic Deira district of old Dubai. The house predates the UAE federation itself, representing an unbroken thread of Gulf attar and traditional Arabian scent culture across seven decades. Al Hunaidi's heritage is rooted in the spice and fragrance trading culture of the Deira souks — one of the Gulf's most enduring commercial districts — where oud chips, attars, rose water, and traditional blended perfumes have been traded and sold for generations. The house produces accessible traditional Gulf fragrances including oud-based attars, bakhoor blends, and Western-format orientals, serving both local Emirati customers maintaining long-standing scent traditions and visitors seeking authentic Gulf olfactory culture. Its longevity, family provenance, and deep roots in old Dubai give Al Hunaidi historical legitimacy and cultural weight distinct from the many newer UAE fragrance brands that lack comparable heritage.
