Alkemia Perfumes
Alkemia Perfumes was founded in 2009 in western Massachusetts by Sharra Lamoureaux, who creates all fragrances in-house. The label operates in the tradition of American indie perfumery: small batches, direct-to-consumer sales, and a creative vocabulary shaped more by literary and folkloric reference than by mainstream market expectations. Compositions are oil-based, vegan, and cruelty-free by design. The line is notably seasonal, with limited runs tied to lunar phases, harvests, and imagined mythologies. Bottle sizes run from 1ml samples to 5ml rollerballs and 10ml bottles, keeping the entry price low and encouraging exploration. The house has a strong cult following among fragrance forum communities — collectors who value handcraft and idiosyncrasy over projection and shelf presence. Scent families range widely from dense incense-resin compositions to airy florals and forest-floor greenery, held together by Lamoureaux's distinctive blending sensibility rather than any imposed stylistic uniformity.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
