Alta Moda
Alta Moda is a fragrance label within the Swiss Arabian Perfumes Group, one of the UAE's largest and most established perfumery conglomerates, founded in 1974 by Hussein Adam Ali. The name draws on the Italian phrase for high fashion, positioning the brand as an aspiration-oriented offering within the group's broader, tiered portfolio that also includes Sapil Perfumes and Shirley May. The brand's fragrances blend the aromatic conventions of oriental perfumery — oud, amber, musk, and warm resins — with accessible price positioning, making them a staple in mass-market retail across the GCC and beyond. Alta Moda does not maintain a standalone creative identity in the manner of independent niche houses; instead, it functions as a category within a portfolio brand system, where production scale and distribution efficiency take precedence over artisanal distinction. Swiss Arabian's Sharjah-based manufacturing infrastructure supports Alta Moda's output alongside the group's other labels, giving it access to significant blending capability. The brand is distributed primarily across the Gulf, South Asia, and parts of Africa, where demand for affordable oriental fragrance remains substantial.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
