Amberfig
Exclusive Brazilian fragrance laboratory.
Amberfig is a small Brazilian niche house founded in 2014 by perfumer David Magalhães, who worked alongside collaborator Felipe Peixoto to build a catalogue of warm, ambery, fruit-and-resin compositions — a register the brand telegraphs in its very name. The house operates out of Brazil and remains one of the country's better-known artisanal fragrance projects. The line favours rich orientals: amber, fig, oud, leather, dried fruit, incense and dense gourmand notes such as honey and tobacco, with occasional cleaner solar exits. Concentrations are high and compositions long-lasting, with bottles sold mostly through niche e-tail and a handful of South American and European boutiques. New releases continue to appear regularly into the 2020s. It suits wearers attracted to the Latin American niche tradition of generous, sweet, sun-warmed orientals — fragrance as something tactile and enveloping.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
