American Crew
The professional grooming authority for men.
American Crew was founded in 1994 by David Raccuglia, a Minneapolis-based hairstylist who drew inspiration from the 1950s barbershop aesthetic to create a professional men's grooming line that could bridge salon and retail distribution. The brand's identity is built around the crew-cut era of American masculinity — clean lines, classic confidence, no-nonsense performance — and has maintained that visual and olfactory consistency since launch. Its fragrance products, primarily colognes and aftershaves rather than standalone fine fragrance, follow the same aesthetic: fresh, clean, slightly spiced and woody accords that complement the barbershop and professional grooming context. American Crew was acquired by Revlon and became part of that company's professional distribution network, expanding its reach into salons and barbershops globally. It distributes through professional beauty suppliers, major drugstore chains, and online retail. The brand remains one of the most recognisable names in professional men's grooming and has maintained strong credibility within the barbering community for over three decades.
