Amir Oud
Gulf-inspired oud perfumery, founded in Texas.
Amir Oud is a fragrance house based in Richardson, Texas, founded by Lama Joraid and distinguished as one of the few oud-focused perfumeries in America to be established by a woman. Joraid grew up in the Gulf countries, where oud — the resinous wood of the agarwood tree — forms the aromatic backbone of daily life, celebration, and hospitality. Her father's habit of wearing distilled oud oil and the smoke of bakhoor burning through her childhood home became the founding memories of the brand, which she conceived as a bridge between Eastern perfumery's most treasured materials and the sensibilities of a Western audience. Amir Oud takes inspiration from agarwood, incense, amber, and precious woods, constructing compositions that fuse Gulf richness with contemporary accessibility, and its Richardson boutique offers immersive in-store consultation experiences where customers can explore the house's range and commission personalised blends. Honoured by LUXlife's Health, Beauty and Wellness Awards for its dedication to craftsmanship and authenticity, Amir Oud stands as an uncommon voice in American niche perfumery — deeply rooted in a specific cultural tradition and animated by a personal rather than commercial mandate.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
