April Aromatics
All-natural perfumery, hand-composed in Berlin.
April Aromatics is a Berlin-based natural perfume house founded by Tanja Bochnig, who trained in aromatherapy and botany before turning to artisan perfumery. The brand takes its name from her birth month and operates on a single rule: every ingredient is certified organic or wild-harvested, with no synthetics in the formula. Bochnig composes everything herself in a small Kreuzberg studio, working from absolutes, essential oils, and tinctures. The line favours rich florals, resins, and animalic accords held together with unusual transparency for all-natural work. Calling All Angels won the Art and Olfaction Award in the artisan category in 2014, and Irisistible was a 2019 finalist. April Aromatics sits at the serious end of natural perfumery: technically rigorous, slightly devotional in tone, and recognisable to anyone who has spent time with the genre.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
