Arcana Wildcraft
Wild-harvested indie perfumery from the Pacific Northwest.
Arcana Wildcraft is a family-run indie perfume house founded in Portland, Oregon in 2003 and now based in Port Angeles, Washington. Owners Jason and Julia Romero work in the wild-harvest tradition, distilling their own essential oils, building tinctures from plants they gather, and constructing handmade enfleurages of flowers and smoke alongside high-grade aromachemicals. The scent names lean mystical — invocations, seasons, folkloric figures — and the compositions tend toward dusky woods, herbs, resins, and earth-bound florals rather than bright modern accords. Releases come in waves and many are limited or seasonal, which has built a small, devoted following among collectors of process-oriented natural perfumery. Arcana sits comfortably at the witchcraft-and-herbalism end of the indie spectrum, but the work itself is patient and craftsmanlike rather than costume.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
