Armand Basi
Mediterranean urbanity, distilled into fragrance.
Armand Basi is a Catalan fashion house headquartered in Barcelona. Its origins lie in a 1948 family knitwear company started by brothers Armand and Josep Basi, but the eponymous fashion brand — which sits behind the fragrances — was launched in 1986 to extend the family's textile business into clothing, accessories and licensed lifestyle goods. The perfume line debuted in 1999 and has remained a quiet but persistent presence in European drugstores and department stores. Compositions favour clean, modern, easy-to-wear profiles — In Blue is a fresh aromatic, In Red a fruity floral — typically aimed at twenty- to thirty-something professionals rather than connoisseurs. Production sits within the Spanish licensed-fragrance ecosystem alongside houses like Loewe and Adolfo Dominguez. It suits a wearer who wants a recognisable European designer scent at an accessible price, without venturing into niche territory.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
