Atl. Oblique
Perfume rooted in poetry, made in Berlin.
Atelier Oblique was founded in Berlin in 2016 by graphic designer and art director Mario Lombardo, who built the house as an extension of his broader practice in language, image, and object-making. Each fragrance begins with a literary or conceptual anchor — a line of poetry, an architectural idea, a photographic frame — and works outward into olfactory form, treating scent as one more medium for articulating thought. The Berlin location is not incidental: the house carries the city's legacy of rigorous conceptualism alongside post-industrial quietness. Lombardo works with skilled collaborating perfumers to translate intentions that resist conventional brief-writing, resulting in compositions that reward attention over immediacy. Standout releases include Sandalwood 17, Moss & Stone, and After The Rain, each anchored to elemental materials handled with restraint. Atelier Oblique occupies a distinct position in the European niche scene by insisting that a fragrance can be a complete artistic statement.
