Attar Al Has
Eastern perfumery in an Ottoman frame.
Attar Al Has is a Turkish niche fragrance house founded in 2021 by Ersin Bas and Sinan Karakas, working within a self-described Ottoman cultural frame. The name combines the Arabic term attar — concentrated perfume oil — with al-has, meaning the finest or most select, establishing the house's ambition clearly: not simply Turkish or Eastern fragrance, but the best of that tradition. Despite its very recent founding, the house has assembled an impressive roster of international perfumers including Sidonie Lancesseur, Karine Vinchon Spehner, and Marc Daniel Heimgartner alongside local talent, resulting in a catalogue that reflects both regional inspiration and European technical polish. The Ottoman frame gives Attar Al Has a richer historical canvas than most newly founded Turkish houses — Istanbul as cosmopolitan imperial capital rather than merely modern city — and the compositions reflect that ambition.
