Auphorie
East meets West, handcrafted in rare naturals.
Auphorie is an artisan perfume house founded by Malaysian brothers Eugene and Emrys Au, often credited as the first independent fragrance label of its kind in Malaysia. Self-taught and working out of Kuala Lumpur, the brothers blend small batches by hand, drawing heavily on natural extracts — ouds, resins, indigenous woods and tropical florals — supported by select aroma molecules. The house's compositions tend toward dense, narrative scents rooted in Southeast Asian and broader Asian cultural references. Eau de Nyonya nods to Peranakan heritage, while Miyako evokes a stylised Japanese spring and won the Art and Olfaction Awards' Golden Pear for Best Artisan Fragrance in 2016. Distribution is deliberately limited, sold through the brand's own site and a handful of niche retailers worldwide.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
