Ava Luxe
Ava Luxe is the perfume label of Serena Ava Franco, a self-taught perfumer and trained painter who began the brand in 2004 from a small studio outside Boston. Franco built the line on a single-handed model: she composes, decants and ships every order herself, with no contract laboratory or licensee involved. The catalogue is small but unusually distinctive, with compositions like Madame X, Tabac Kretek and Royal Parvati developing a long-running cult following in the early independent-perfume online community of the mid-2000s. Materials lean toward dense resins, smoky leathers and powdery florals, and many releases trade in and out of stock as ingredients become available. Distribution is direct from the brand's own site, with no wholesale presence. The house is closer to a working studio than a commercial company, and its release cadence reflects that.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
