Bastide Aix en Provence
Luxuriously simple. Naturally potent.
Bastide is a Provençal lifestyle beauty brand co-founded in 2002 by hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai and creative director Shirin von Wulffen, rooted in Aix-en-Provence and named for the traditional Provençal manor house — those terracotta-walled farmsteads whose rhythm of life, seasonal scents, and culinary abundance define a particular idea of southern French living. The house creates sensorial products for skin, body, and home that draw directly on the surrounding landscape: the lavender fields and olive groves of the Luberon, the pine forests of the Sainte-Victoire, the citrus gardens along the coastal plain. Fragrances are produced by local artisans described as Beautisans — craftspeople with generational expertise in traditional Provençal techniques — using formulas that behave more like family recipes than laboratory protocols. Bastide reframes luxury not as acquisition but as sensory ritual: the slow pleasure of a hand cream, the meditative act of lighting a candle at dusk, a perfume that carries the afternoon's jasmine into the evening.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
