Bdk
Third-generation Parisian perfumer's contemporary niche house.
BDK Parfums was founded in Paris in 2016 by David Benedek, at twenty-six years old, heir to three generations of French perfumery and alumnus of his family's trade. The initials BDK — reversed from Benedek — reflect a desire to honour lineage while charting new territory. Headquartered near the Palais Royal, the house organises its catalogue into four distinct collections: Collection Parisienne, Collection Matières, Collection Azur, and Collection Exclusive. Each fragrance operates as a standalone olfactory story, with the overall library building a coherent and contemporary vision of Parisian niche perfumery. Noses including Alexandra Carlin, Nicolas Beaulieu, and Mathilde Bijaoui have contributed to the range. The brand's trajectory shifted in the early 2020s when LVMH Luxury Ventures acquired a minority stake — the first outside investment in BDK — with the stated aim of accelerating international distribution while preserving the house's creative independence. BDK now operates in approximately forty-five countries.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
