Be Layered was set up in Los Angeles in 2018 by founder Hany Saad, who folded a previous custom-blend project, ZMZM Fragrances, into the new brand and refocused entirely on layering-friendly eaux de parfum sold direct to consumer. The premise is straightforward: a wide range of small-batch, handcrafted scents intended to be combined in pairs or threes rather than worn as standalone signatures. The split catalogue runs in two halves — original compositions like Layered Signature, and a much larger inspired-by line that mirrors the accord profile of luxury releases at a lower price. Production happens in California and orders are blended to order. The brand sits in the accessible tier, marketed primarily through Instagram and TikTok rather than traditional retail, and aimed at younger US shoppers building a starter wardrobe.
