Betty Barclay
Betty Barclay is a German women's fashion brand established in 1955 under licence by Max Berk, who took the original American label launched by Jonathan Logan in 1947 and rebuilt it for the European market from a base in Nussloch, near Heidelberg. It has since become one of the most widely distributed mid-market women's labels in German-speaking Europe. Fragrance has been licensed since 1992 to the German house Mäurer & Wirtz, which has produced a steady stream of feminine launches in the affordable mass tier — fruity-florals, soft musks, light gourmands, often in pastel-coloured juice and youth-oriented packaging. The fragrances are not aimed at niche or critic audiences and rarely feature in industry awards, but they hold a substantial share of the German drugstore and department-store market and serve as an entry point for younger customers into the brand's broader fashion line.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
