Beverly Hills 90210
Television-show licensing extension of Giorgio Beverly Hills, circa 1992.
Beverly Hills 90210 is a fragrance brand created in 1992 to capitalise on the enormous cultural moment of the Fox television series of the same name. Produced by Torand Productions, a Manhattan-based fragrance company, the brand launched both women's and men's fragrances timed precisely to the show's peak popularity, blending the teen-drama appeal of the Beverly Hills zip code with the department-store fragrance conventions of the early 1990s. The women's eau de parfum mixed green apple, white florals, and woodsy base notes in a style typical of the era. Over subsequent decades the brand expanded under Torand with flankers and variations aimed at younger consumers, trading on nostalgia and the persistent cultural legibility of the 90210 name. The line represents one of the more direct attempts of that period to translate television IP into wearable fragrance, and it retains an audience among collectors of 1990s popular-culture ephemera.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
