Boitown
Boitown — written 冰希黎 in Chinese — was founded in Shanghai in 2008 and is among the first Chinese houses to position itself as a serious perfumery brand rather than a cosmetics adjacent. The work threads native cultural references through the vocabulary of contemporary Western perfumery, and collections are organised around themes such as tea, woods, and gilded materials. The brand commissions established international perfumers — Amandine Clerc-Marie, Nathalie Lorson, Maxime Exler — to compose for it, and its Master Perfumer line is the most ambitious of these collaborations. Boitown sells primarily through its own stores and online channels in mainland China and is not widely distributed abroad. The price band is mid-market by Western standards, more accessible than imported European niche but pitched above mass beauty in the domestic market.

DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
