Brown Girl Jane
Luxury wellness rooted in Black culture.
Brown Girl Jane is an American fragrance and wellness house co-founded in 2020 by entrepreneurs Malaika Jones, Nia Jones, and media personality Tai Beauchamp. The brand emerged to fill a perceived gap in luxury wellness for Black women — products made with them in mind rather than as an afterthought. The debut Mood Collection was developed in partnership with IFF perfumers including Gabriela Chelariu, Clément Gavarry, and Honorine Blanc, producing three clean-formula eau de parfums — Baz, Mood, and Oud — each built around natural ingredients and sustainable sourcing. The house quickly attracted venture capital attention and national retail placement at Sephora, a notable achievement for an independent Black-owned brand. Compositions tend toward warm, enveloping profiles: soft musks, dark woods, and floral accords with broad appeal. The brand's success has made it a reference point for inclusive luxury and cultural representation in the contemporary fragrance industry.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
