Bud Parfums is a small Australian perfume workshop run by Howard Jarvis, who composes and bottles every fragrance himself in limited quantities. The catalogue — names include Ugly Bastard, Sweetheart, Whoa De Cologne, and Assassin — leans into an irreverent, plain-speaking tone uncommon in independent perfumery, with the marketing purposely positioned as the antithesis of department-store gloss. Much of Jarvis's practice centres on bespoke commissions for weddings, anniversaries, and other occasions, alongside a Rent-a-Scent system that lets customers pay for custom compositions on installments.
