Carrement Belle
Independent perfumery hand-filled in Nîmes since 1988.
Catherine and Frank opened a boutique in Nîmes in 1986 selling costume jewellery and accessories, then pivoted to fragrance two years later when their first eau de parfum, Ippi Patchouli, became an unexpected success. From that single bottle, Carrément Belle grew into a fully independent French perfume house — every fragrance composed with a master nose in Grasse, then hand-filled and assembled in the founders' Nîmes workshop, a process unchanged for nearly four decades. The house operates without intermediaries or marketing excess, preferring to put its resources into raw materials and honest pricing. A second generation joined in 2010 when Frank's son Maxime took the reins, preserving the original ethos while expanding distribution to eighty countries. Carrément Belle stands as a quiet argument that small-scale, direct perfumery can coexist with genuine quality at a fair price — a proposition that has earned it a devoted following far beyond the south of France.
