Charrier Parfums
French miniature perfumery since 1888.
Charrier Parfums is a family-run French perfumer established in 1888 in Vallauris, on the Côte d'Azur near Grasse. Five generations on, the company is best known as a leader in the world of miniature perfumes — small-format eaux de toilette and parfum sold in collectable gift boxes built around themes such as the flowers of Provence (rose, jasmine, lavender, mimosa, violet) or the regions of France. Production stays in-house at the Vallauris site, drawing on the local tradition of Grasse-region perfumery for its raw materials. The compositions are honest, unfussy florals and soliflores at modest prices, distributed through perfumeries, gift shops, duty-free and department stores in more than sixty countries rather than through prestige beauty channels. It suits a wearer who likes the older provincial-French perfumery vocabulary — gentle, recognisable, regional — and who treats scent as a souvenir more than a wardrobe.
