Chatillon Lux
St. Louis rendered in fragrance.
Chatillon Lux was founded by Shawn Maher in St. Louis in 2015, grounding the house firmly in the history and identity of a city that fragrance geography rarely acknowledges. Maher's work references the Missouri riverfront, the architecture of the Gateway Arch era, and the particular midwestern warmth that defines life in St. Louis. The house produces grooming goods — shaving soaps, aftershaves, and colognes — and wearable fragrances using Maher's own formulations. Named releases like Cattleya, Ozark Highlands, and Boo! (a Halloween flanker) reflect humor, local pride, and genuine olfactory craft in equal measure. Maher operates as both creative director and nose, maintaining full creative control over a deliberately modest production scale. Chatillon Lux has attracted a devoted following within the traditional wet-shaving community as well as the broader American indie fragrance scene.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
