Desigual
Barcelona fashion brand whose licensed fragrance line sits in the accessible tier.
Desigual is a Barcelona-based fashion brand founded in 1984 by Swiss entrepreneur Thomas Meyer, who created his first garment — a jacket assembled from second-hand denim scraps — a year earlier and built from that improbable starting point into one of Spain's most internationally recognised fashion companies. The brand's identity centres on colour, pattern, and a self-described radical optimism, characteristics that made it distinctive against the minimal aesthetic dominant in European fashion in the 1990s and 2000s. Desigual's licensed fragrance line extends this ethos into accessible-tier perfumery: energetic, brightly composed, and sold through mass-market department store and fashion retail channels that mirror the clothing distribution. The fragrances are produced under licence by an external fragrance group and carry Desigual's characteristic exuberance of personality at a price point consistent with the brand's democratic positioning. The fragrance arm represents one dimension of a broader lifestyle extension strategy that has included watches, bags, and homeware.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
