Dralle
German fragrance heritage since 1852.
Dralle was founded in 1852 by Georg Justus Dralle, initially in Riga — then part of the Russian Empire — before establishing its principal operations in Hamburg. The house developed a strong reputation throughout the nineteenth century for high-quality eau de cologne, hair preparations, and extraits de parfum distributed across the German-speaking world and Russian imperial markets. Dralle's Illusion and several classic eaux de cologne became benchmark products of the era, familiar to generations of German consumers. The Hamburg factory continued production through much of the twentieth century, though the house underwent ownership changes and contraction as the German fragrance market modernized. The Dralle name persists in vintage collections and perfume history scholarship as a record of serious German perfumery before the industry was dominated by large multinational groups. Contemporary releases under the name are limited.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
