Essence de Roumanie
Romanian botanical excellence.
Essence de Roumanie was established in 2018 to bring Romanian botanical heritage into the contemporary fragrance conversation. Romania sits within a broader Central and Eastern European aromatic zone — it shares latitude with Bulgarian rose-growing regions and the lavender plains of the Western Balkans — and the house draws on this geographic richness as its primary creative resource. Native botanicals including Romanian rose, oak moss, and regional herbs inform compositions that seek to express a specific place rather than a generalised European aesthetic. The niche positioning is appropriate to the quality of the ingredients used and the ambitions of the project. Operating from a country with limited international fragrance-industry infrastructure, Essence de Roumanie is a genuine original — a house that makes the case for its home country as a source of raw materials and creative vision rather than simply a consumer market for Western brands.

Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
