Roman boutique perfumery from a veteran Italian nose.
Essenzialmente Laura is the eponymous boutique line of Laura Bosetti Tonatto, an Italian perfumer working since 1986 who has formulated for major cosmetics groups and built a parallel career in custom commissions. The shop sits beside the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, with further outposts in Italian cities; the catalogue runs to more than seventy fragrances ranged across the olfactory families defined by the Osmothèque in Versailles. The work is technically classical, IFRA-compliant, and rooted in a specifically Italian sensibility: Roman incense and stone, citruses from the south, leather, iris, neroli and tobacco. Bosetti Tonatto has also written commissioned scents for the Vatican Museums and various Italian cultural institutions. It is a house for travellers who prefer a perfumer's own counter over distribution, and for wearers who like fragrance built with restraint and attention to material.
